Information we process

Account and profile information

If you create an account, we process your email address, account ID, authentication information, optional display name, profile photo, home state, unit preferences, favorite species, and favorite waters. Authentication may be provided through Supabase or a supported social sign-in provider.

Location information

With your permission, the app processes approximate and precise location to show local weather and safety alerts, center maps, suggest nearby fishing resources, save catch locations, and record an active fishing-trip route. Background location is used only while you have an active trip with route tracking enabled. You can pause tracking or revoke location permission through the app or device settings.

Fishing content and photos

Catch logs, measurements, notes, species selections, trip records, waypoints, saved waters, and photos you choose to attach may be stored locally and, when you sign in and enable synchronization, transmitted to our hosted services. Private photos are stored using protected storage and private access controls.

Purchases and subscription status

Google Play, Apple, Stripe, and RevenueCat may process payment and subscription transactions. We do not receive full payment-card or bank-account details. We may receive transaction identifiers, subscription status, plan, renewal information, and limited billing records needed to provide access, prevent fraud, and support purchases.

Technical information

Our hosting and service providers may process IP address, device or app identifiers, operating-system information, request logs, and diagnostic information needed to secure, operate, and troubleshoot the service. Wake and Lake does not include advertising SDKs.

How information is used

• Provide forecasts, maps, safety alerts, and species guidance.
• Save and synchronize catches, photos, trips, and preferences.
• Authenticate accounts and maintain subscription access.
• Respond to support, deletion, and privacy requests.
• Protect the service, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Service providers and sharing

Information is shared only when needed to operate requested features, comply with law, protect users, or complete a transaction. Providers may include Supabase for authentication, database, and private file storage; Google and Apple for sign-in, app distribution, maps, and purchases; RevenueCat for subscription status; Stripe for web billing; Expo for app delivery; and weather, water, map, and places providers used to return requested information.

Service providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. We do not sell personal information and do not share it with data brokers or advertisers for targeted advertising.

Security

Data sent between the app, website, and hosted services is encrypted in transit. Private cloud records use account-based access controls, and private images use protected storage or time-limited access. No system is perfectly secure, but we use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information processed.

Retention and deletion

Account information and synchronized fishing content are generally kept while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time. After we verify the request, we delete or de-identify account data from active systems, subject to a limited period for backup rotation and any records we must retain for security, fraud prevention, transaction support, tax, accounting, or other legal obligations.

Deleting a Wake and Lake account does not automatically cancel a subscription billed by Google Play, Apple, or Stripe. Cancel the subscription with the billing provider to stop future renewals.

Your choices

• Use core offline features without creating an account.
• Grant or revoke location, photo, camera, and notification access.
• Pause background trip tracking at any time.
• Update profile information and synchronization preferences.
• Request access, correction, export, or deletion by contacting us.

Children

Wake and Lake is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child. If you believe a child provided information, contact us so we can review and delete it.
