Eligibility and accounts
The service is intended for adults. You are responsible for the accuracy of information submitted through your account, protecting your sign-in credentials, and activity performed through your account. Some offline features may be available without an account; synchronization, subscriptions, or other features may require one.
Fishing, weather, and safety information
Forecasts, species guidance, maps, water conditions, safety alerts, regulation summaries, and record comparisons may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate. Conditions can change quickly. Always consult official agencies, current regulations, local notices, and emergency sources before acting.
Regulation guidance does not constitute legal advice. A possible record catch is not an official record. Official verification remains with the responsible natural-resources agency.
Your content and privacy
You retain ownership of catch photos, notes, routes, and other content you submit. You grant Wake and Lake a limited license to store, process, display, back up, and transmit that content only as needed to provide the service and honor the settings you select. Exact locations are private by default unless you deliberately choose otherwise.
Do not upload content you do not have the right to use, unlawful content, malware, harassment, or material that violates another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights.
Subscriptions and purchases
Paid plans may renew automatically for the billing period shown at purchase until canceled through the provider that processed the transaction. Google Play and Apple purchases are managed through the applicable store account. Web purchases are managed through Stripe. Prices, taxes, trials, and refund eligibility are shown by the billing provider and are subject to that provider's terms.
Cancel before the renewal date to prevent the next charge. Cancellation generally leaves access active through the already-paid period. Deleting your Wake and Lake account does not automatically cancel a third-party subscription.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use the service to violate fishing, wildlife, boating, or other law.
- Attempt to bypass security, payment, access, or rate-limit controls.
- Interfere with the service or use automated access abusively.
- Misrepresent an unofficial result as an official agency decision.
- Use another person's private location or account information without permission.
Service changes and termination
Features, providers, and availability may change as the service evolves. We may suspend access to protect users, comply with law, investigate abuse, or enforce these terms. You may stop using the service or request account deletion at any time.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Wake and Lake is not responsible for fishing results, lost data caused by events outside reasonable control, unsafe conditions, regulatory violations, or decisions made from informational guidance.
To the extent permitted by law, Wake and Lake will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Some jurisdictions do not permit particular exclusions, so these limits apply only to the extent allowed.
